Public Transit Protest

Cuts to Saint John transit is the subject of a Saturday afternoon protest in kings square
50 people showed up At kings square saturday around noon to protest against the Transit cuts and marched down king street . The held a mock funeral outside city hall. Organizer Tammy Richards, says ipoor and low income families, will be hurt by the cuts to bus service along with the elderly the disabled. The Transit commission announced more cuts in early march to trim the budget by 250 Thousand dollars. This follows a 12% cut back in december.

With the upcoming May municipal elections some smaller candidates are looking for help with getting their name in the public. One such person is Justin Speight, he is on of the managers of the Saint John Millrats. When he heard the city was cutting spending on the fire department Speight decided he needed to do something. So he is running for council at large, he asked me to shoot is candidacy photos.
